Finally some movement!
Well it has been a while but I finally have got around to updating the blog.
A number of months have gone buy and we are happy to say we have some movement.
It was not sensible to lift the roof over winter so we have decided to move the garage and put in the driveway. This makes a lot of sense as we will at some point soon have a while heap of trucks coming through with concrete etc
Also another exciting day we took ownership of the timber, man that is expensive stuff. Anyway done now before the GST rise!
Here are some photos on the excavation for the driveway and garage including the foundations. More to come!

Pruning the Trees - Kaikoura Style
When we decided that we needed to lose one of the large 40ft pines we thought we had btter get the professionals in. So John (Our neighbour) mentioned " Oh I will get old BlackArse in their to deal to that" (BTW for those that just took an inward breath, this is not a racial conatation at all but relates to something completely unrelated). With some skepticism we agreed thinking that nearly anyone that is anyone in Kaikoura has a nickname (and this was a doosey) we reckoned this would be ok and John is the man in the know and knows who is best to get.
So skipping forward to the day Kerry Rush and his father and team turn up with a huge digger ready for action. Yardy (Another respected local, a fulltime Bushman) was on the case to make the right cuts to make sure it landed in the right spot.
Down it came with a triumphant crash, ready for 6 months of cleanup and 1000's of pinecones!
So here are the photos and also a Vid or two.

The Total Plan
The Plans
The First Post
Well here is the first post, it as been a long road but here we are finally, starting the renovations on Parsons Road, Kaikoura.
We purchased the house and 7 acres some years ago and call Kaikoura "home".
We always saw that we would renovate, the location is great and knew that we could create something quite amazing to waste away the hours looking up at the mountains and out to sea.
